Speech Language Intensive Summer Help (SPLISH) is a 2-week (Monday-Thursday) program for children ages 3-12 with speech-language-hearing needs. Participants will be matched with a graduate student clinician and engage in individual, small group and whole group activities. Student clinicians are supervised by nationally certified and KY state licensed speech-language pathologists. An in-person camp is scheduled, with limited registration and staggered start/end times to allow for social-distancing and safety protocols. Registration is $50. Pre-registration required by calling 859-622-4444 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Word Detective Camp for students entering 2nd and 3rd grades will be held June 21-25th, 2021 from 9-11am on the EKU Richmond Campus. The purpose of Word Detective Camp is to improve students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Camp participants will complete a variety of fun, interactive word study activities as they learned how to use “clues” (i.e., spelling patterns, prefixes, suffixes, etc.) to figure out a word’s meaning and build new words. Word Detective Camp is led by 2nd year graduate students under the direction of Dr. Kellie Ellis. For more information, please contact the EKU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic by email email@example.com or call 859-622-1860. Registration is $25 with a sliding scale available for those that qualify.
Individuals with fluency / stutterning concerns can receive individual or group therapy sessions throughout the month of June. This program will meet on Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons with graduate student clinicians, supervised by ASHA Board Certified Fluency Specialist, Dr. Charles Hughes. For more information, please contact the EKU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic by email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 859-622-4444.
Communication Connections summer program is for individuals who have experienced a stroke, traumatic brain injury, dementia or other issue impacting their communication and/or cognitive abilities. Graduate student clinicians, under the direction of Dr. Christen Page, will be working individually and/or in groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the month of June. Interested individuals should contact the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at 859-622-4444 or email email@example.com.
