Word Detective Camp for students entering 2nd and 3rd grades will be held June 21-25th, 2021 from 9-11am on the EKU Richmond Campus.   The purpose of Word Detective Camp is to improve students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.  Camp participants will complete a variety of fun, interactive word study activities as they learned how to use “clues” (i.e., spelling patterns, prefixes, suffixes, etc.) to figure out a word’s meaning and build new words.  Word Detective Camp is led by 2nd year graduate students under the direction of Dr. Kellie Ellis.  For more information, please contact the EKU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic by email or call 859-622-1860.  Registration is $25 with a sliding scale available for those that qualify.

Individuals with fluency / stutterning concerns can receive individual or group therapy sessions throughout the month of June.  This program will meet on Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons with graduate student clinicians, supervised by ASHA Board Certified Fluency Specialist, Dr. Charles Hughes.   For more information, please contact the EKU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic by email or phone 859-622-4444.

Communication Connections summer program is for individuals who have experienced a stroke, traumatic brain injury, dementia or other issue impacting their communication and/or cognitive abilities.   Graduate student clinicians, under the direction of Dr. Christen Page, will be working individually and/or in groups on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the month of June.    Interested individuals should contact the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at 859-622-4444 or email

Evaluations in speech/language/fluency are available in summer 2021 at no cost.  Student clinicians, under the direct supervision of a nationally certified and KY licensed speech-language pathologist, will conduct a general speech/language evaluation and provide a written summary for future considerations.   Call or email the
